Did you know, most online poker sites will provide players access to their online casino from the same account? Play online craps, slots or blackjack for free or with real money.
Since my discovery of Dragon Ball Z, I had always wanted to play a game that would mimic the series as much as possible. And with Dragon Ball Z:Burst Limit my dream has almost come true. The new graphics make the DBZ universe more appealing, they make the fights look almost as good if not as good as the original series. The faster pace of the brawls are a nice welcome to a series known for frantic, non-stop matches. And by adding a more cinematic feel to the fights that will leave fans drooling, the player will be left with the satisfaction of knowing that they are one step closer to controlling the DBZ universe.
The Z chronicles try to give a small taste of the great Dragon Ball Z story, but they will mostly confuse the average player that has not spent time devouring the endless amounts of Dragon Ball Z episodes. There is no explanation of any kind before or after any specific fight to tell the player of the importance of the fight at hand. And when all is said and done, most newcomes will be left with nothing more than confusion in their heads as to what occurred during the 50 or so matches available in the Z Chronicles.
The versus mode and online mode is were most of the time should be spent. This allows the player to combat a real player that will not fall for a random input of button mashing, which can easily be accomplished with the easier AIs that will grant an easy win to even the less skilled players. Most fighters are balanced enough that any one match up will play out more out of skill than out of button mashing. There are still a few moves that could be seen as cheap, but for the most part they have been eliminated. The moves are easy to execute but hard to master. Knowing when and how to use a powerful technique can make the difference between a triumphant win or a bitter loss.
The amount of levels, although decent, could have been more. The levels look nice, but after a couple of times playing in them, players will notice that the interactivity that has been there in previous installments is missing. Gone are the days in which the player will see the destruction of a planet or a wrecked health bar after being in the recieving end of an unstopable move. And with such a limited number of stages, one is left to wonder how long they spent on the all important multiplayer part of the game. The character roster is solid, and although most of them have to be unlocked, the total of 21 characters should be enough for any fan to pick from. Most characters will not reach their full potential until the Z Chronicles has been completed a couple of times, drama pieces as well as more powerful super moves will be rewarded during the numerous playthroughs of the Z chronicles. Although a worthy addition to the Dragon Ball Z themed games, this one is still far from being the perfect title to reel in newcomers that are not already fans of the series. Those that are already on the bandwagon will not feel the need get off since the title provides enough to satisfy the fans that have been with the series throughout the years. We can only hope that future downloadable content will grant us with more stages and maybe even more fighters to choose from. Overall, the Dragon Ball Z experience has been left intact and the game is enough to keep those of us searching for the perfect DBZ experience to look foward to another day.
