Alice: Madness Returns
by American [James] McGee presented by EA Games and McGee's Spicy Horse
Alice: Madness Returns can best be described as a lovechild between Guillermo del Toro and Tim Burton as far as visual appeal is concerned.
Not only is the game visually-stunning, it has spectacular and unique gameplay. "Unique" doesn't even scrape the surface of the gameplay for Alice:Madness Returns. There are two storylines that occur in the game: there is Alice and the "real world" she lives in, the asylum, etc. Then there is....Wonderland, or what's left of it. The background of the Wonderland storyline is that there is an infernal train that chugs its way through Wonderland, destroying everything in its path. You can immediately tell this isn't the Wonderland you're used to seeing. There are no happy flowers and goofy people. There are globs of goo and creepy dolls (read "freaky-ass BitchDolls," and yes, they're called "BitchDoll" in the game) that want nothing more to kill you. Add the Executioner of the Queen, and you have a nightmarish world of death, darkness, and destruction. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.
If you're a little odd (like me!) and you enjoy games that are just as visually-appealing as they are playworthy, then I highly recommend Alice: Madness Returns. Alice: Madness Returns is available on almost any console or platform and was recently released on Steam.
